Lesson 7

The seventh step on the road to eternal life is growing in Jesus Christ, or Sanctification.

True repentance and justification will result in a steady growth in Jesus Christ (Sanctification). This process means living a life o f holiness, dependence, and obedience to Jesus Christ. Peter encourages us that we must "grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18).

1. In fulfilling God's will for us, on whom must we depend?

"I can do all things through _________________ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).

2. How can we live a fruitful life?

"I am the (a) _____________________ , You are the (b) _____________________ .  He who (c) _____________________

In Me, and I in him, bears much (d) _____________________ ; four without Me you can do (e) _____________________ " (John 15:5).

3. As we grow in the Lord Jesus Christ on the road to salvation, what should guide our path?

"Your (a) _____________________ is a lamp to my feet, and a (b) _____________________  to my path" (Psalm 119:105).

4. Will the believer attain perfection instantly?

"But the path of the just is like the (a) _____________________ that shines ever brighter unto the (b) _____________________ day" (Proverbs 4:18). Sanctification is a lifelong process that will only be completed when Jesus returns (1 John 3:2).

5. As we journey on this road to eternal life, what should be our attitude towards the commandments of Jesus Christ?
"If you (a) _____________________ M e, (b) _____________________ M y commandments" ( J o h n 14:15).

"Here is the o f the saints; here are those whot h e commandments of God and the
of Jesus" (Revelation 14:12).

6. How can we live a holy life?
"I have been (a) _____________________ with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (b) ___________________  in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by (c)  _____________________
in there Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me" (Galatians 2:20).

7. Who alone can keep us on this journey of faith?
"Now to Him who is (a) _____________________ to keep you from (b) _____________________ , and to present you faultless before the (c) _____________________  of His glory with exceeding joy" (Jude 24).

MY COMMITMENT

By the grace of God, I promise to diligently study the Word of God and follow its teachings. I also desire to open my heart and let Jesus abide in me as I abide in Him, so that my life may be fruitful in maintaining a life of faith, and also to lead others to Christ my Savior. Amen.
